I had not seen such a well produced video about Nader Khalili up until now (It just a short trailer). I do think this guy was on to something. I wonder how the full movie will turn out.

Javascript doesn't need a capital s

Supposedly the correct way to write JavaScript is as it just appeared in this sentence. I understand that it being a proper noun it gets its first letter capitalized. But capitalizing the s is obnoxious extra work.

I’m not pretending this is an interesting post to finally return here with. Call it a warm up. Back to the matter at hand. I just ran a quick survey of a few big name Javascript libraries to see how they treat the word Javascript. They all capitalized the s. I suppose if you are releasing a library it’s best to be “correct”. Even if it is just following some silly style guidelines probably released by the marketing arm of some mostly defunct company. Although if they’re into being correct than I don’t know why three out of the five I reviewed would describe themselves as either a “JavaScript Library” or “JavaScript Framework”. Is it not silly to capitalize the words library or framework?

While writing this post I noticed that even the spell checker in Firefox wants the s in Javascript capitalized. So then I checked the spell checker in gmail. It doesn’t mind if you don’t even capitalize the j. I like that better.

I made the rack in 3d to make sure it’s more or less how I see it in my head. The side benefit is it makes it easy to know how much material I’ll need. I’m not too good with Sketchup so it’s pretty basic and maybe not exactly how I want it.

Yesterday I was chatting with an acquaintance and some point something was said near the form of:

“Just ask yourself if you’re happy.”

Well, I had ended up asking myself that earlier today and decided that, yes, I am happy. Now from seeing this quote I can say that, sure, in my moment of inquiry I was not strictly happy. This quote seems buddhist. Now I can laugh. hahaha.

I’m writing this during probably my last use of my own internet connection. By tomorrow it should be off and I’ll be taking my internet in sips at cibercafes. This is going to be an experiment in making sure it’s not too easy to be distracted by the internet. I imagine I’m still going to need it just about daily but this should make sure my use is more focused. Not that I’ve been posting here but I felt like I should mark the moment and say not to expect too much around here either.

Although, my plan is to get my ass in gear in a number of ways and that should perhaps help me have more to report and maybe even the time and discipline to do it here. I’m just not making any promises about that part.

I agree. This is what I feel is truth.

George Friedman talks about his latest book. Of the few suppositions he mentions is one in which Mexico will (many years from now) be challenging the U.S. and that’s what I found particularly interesting. I was just reading earlier about potential sudden collapse of Mexico as a functioning state. The two ideas seemed incompatible at first but I suppose the two could go well together as a collapse would obviously only send more Mexicans into the U.S. which could later bolster up Mexico. No matter what I just like being reminded about the uncertainty of it all.

I started this tumblr account back in May 2007. For over a year I didn’t post anything to it but I did set it up to import the items from my claims feed over at jyte.com. That was fine for a while but at some point the feed changed and became the claim feed of all jyte users. So now I have a ton of posts that I never would have chosen to import and no easy way to get rid of them. I have to delete each one individually and that’s quite time consuming. I guess I should have just created a new tumblr account to start fresh but I actually like the months where it was working and only importing claims I made. I’m almost surprised my tumblr account didn’t get banned when the feed content did change to all users claims. In July of 07, for instance, there were some 1500+ imported items. Like I’m going to wade through those and delete each and every one individually.

Another tumblr woe would be the way it strips out my paragraph tag if there is only one paragraph.

This seems to be a great diagnosis about what we’re up...
